I just recieved the Honey Can Do 5 Tier Shelving Unit today, and I've spent the last 1 hour and 45 minutes attempting to put the unit together, and I am getting NOWHERE fast. The instructions are a one page, black and white simple illustration with practically no actual instructions on them.
Initially, upon removing the unit from the box, it appeared to be easy to put together, even for the first 20 minutes, I was thinking to myself, "Gee, this won't be any trouble at all." BUT, you start putting it together, and there seems to be extra pieces that don't belong or fit. And then you try to stand the unit upright, and the whole thing collapses upon itself! Supports 200 lbs? It doesn't even support the individual shelves without anything even on them!
So, I went to the Honey Can Do website and looked for the item I purchased, in hopes of finding more detailed instructions, and, to my disgust, I can't even find that the company even sells the product anymore, let alone have detailed instructions aboout it. I did send the company an e-mail asking for additional information, I'm hoping to recieve a reply ASAP.

I bought these to store stuff we can't quite part with but don't want out of a closet - boxes full of textbooks and reams of paper. Although we're nowhere near the 200 pound limit, there are a lot of heavy things stacked on the book shelf, and it's completely stable. As a side note, the part of the bar that touches the ground has 4 adjustable screws that go in, which has made putting this up in an uneven basement closet much easier than I would have expected. These are also attractive enough (to me) to put in our basement entertainment room for storing kids stuff.
