The overall safe design is very good, I will describe small points to consider that are not obvious until you have the safe installed. A small compromise between the ~3" thickness of the safe for access to the holster when you have to adjust the tension screws for differnet pistols, I have larged sized hands and have a problem getting my fingers in there. When The lid on the safe is locked the lid has about a 1/4" of play, I would prefer it to be snug to the box. The bed mount was not well designed, the design is somewhat similiar to a diving board, only one side is secured to the frame which means the the entire 10 lbs of the safe has some vertical give about 1-2". IMO this is not OK, for a $300 pistol safe, that thing should be firmly mounted to the bed rail.

This is by far the best hand gun safe / vault I've tested and I've purchased 4 of them.

Here are the pros:

- super strong
- quick access with push button combo lock
- mounts easily under the bed
- no worrying about batteries going dead or biometric reader not working

Cons:

- Can't honestly come up with one, maybe cost if that's an issue for you

My experience with the biometric gun vaults is, they are very poorly made and all 3 of the models I tested, including the biometric had one or more issues making them worthless and / or dangerous...

The Biometric wouldn't open half the time... the door would "stick" and the manufacturer said the issue is common and that you can adjust a screw and blah, blah, blah... tried that and it didn't work... and while I was messing around with the thing, I realized just how poorly constructed it was...

And just as bad, sometimes you could just bang the top of it and the door would flop open...

The other non-biometric gun vaults I bought were also very poorly constructed... so while this product is a bit more expensive, I promise that if you were to buy both you'd say this is the winner hands down.

On a side note, for those of you looking for a vault to mount in your car, this one can certainly be used for that but I personally prefer this for use under the bed and then for my vehicle (jeep wrangler) I use both of these:[..]

This safe was very expensive, but it works simply and consistently. I can have my gun out of the safe and in my hand in about 3 seconds while lying in bed. No batteries or electronics to rely on. I have another battery dependent safe that has a combination lock. When the batteries went dead, I realized I had lost the default combination and now have to use a key to get into it. The Titan is very good, but very expensive. But I have little grandchildren around, so couldn't take a chance. I consider it worth the investment in the long run.
