We had a bunch of large tree limbs broken in a wind storm and this pole saw made quick work of getting them down. I like that the saw is balanced with the motor at the back which makes it much easier to use than an electic saw.

I was somewhat disappointed as I received the curved weed eater shaft rather than the straight one. Since I was primarily interested in the saw it wasn't a deal breaker. My engine cover was somewhat scuffed up out of the box but just minor damage. The chain while sharp was too tight on the bar and had to be loosened before use. After getting everything together, filled the engine with 1:40 mix fuel, filled the chain lube tank and fired her up. It started easy enough but would not idle. I set the idle adjustment up to the point it will idle alright unless I tip the engine on it's left side at which point it will die. If I rev the engine a bit it runs no matter what the engine position. I immediately began cutting cedar, black gum, maple and pitch pine limbs. The limbs ranged from 1 to 5 inches in diameter. This saw cuts way better and faster than I'd expected. There is adequate power, the cuts are nice and smooth thanks to the small narrow kerf chain. I was concerned that the pole part of the saw would be flimsy, but so far it seems sturdy enough. After running a tank of gas though my saw it was still displaying the idle quirks which is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. I still like this saw and expect to get a lot of good use out of it.
Update: After running another tank of gasoline though my trimmer it is now idling just fine. Great little machine, wish I'd bought it sooner. I'm changing my rating to 5 star.

The engine broke in fast, and has very good power.
The string trimmer attachment makes it an extra good value, and easy to change back and forth.
